Cured concrete weighs about 150 lb per cubic foot, or roughly 4,050 lb per cubic yard. That number decides whether a truck, a trailer or an upper floor can take the pour, and it is also what disposal and delivery charges are based on.
Weight of a concrete volume, and volume for a weight limit.
W = V × ρ
Normal concrete is 2,400 kg/m³ (150 lb/ft³), lightweight 1,850 kg/m³ and heavyweight 3,000 kg/m³. Reinforced concrete adds about 2% for typical steel ratios.
| Symbol | Meaning |
|---|---|
| V | Concrete volume. |
| ρ | Density of the concrete. |
| W | Weight in pounds, tons and kilograms. |
2 cu yd is 54 cu ft at 150 lb/ft³, so the pour weighs 8,100 lb — over four US tons.

About 4,000–4,150 lb for normal-weight concrete. Lightweight mixes are around 3,100 lb.
Results use standard construction estimating arithmetic: volumes from measured area and depth, unit weights from published material densities, and code-referenced spans or clearances where the page names a code. Quantities are rounded up to whole saleable units and include the stated waste allowance. These tools are planning aids, not structural design, and do not replace a licensed engineer, a local code check, or a contractor's site measurement.
