Compute tan(θ) = sin/cos for any angle. Where cosine is zero (odd multiples of 90°) tangent is mathematically undefined — the tool says so explicitly instead of showing a huge misleading number.
tan(θ) = sin(θ) / cos(θ) — enter degrees or radians, undefined cases flagged.
tan(θ) = opposite / adjacent = sin(θ) / cos(θ)
Tangent has period 180°: tan(θ) = tan(θ + 180°).
| Symbol | Meaning |

| θ | Angle (degrees or radians) |
tan(45°) = 1, tan(0°) = 0, tan(90°) → undefined (explicit error).
