The x-intercept is where y = 0. From two points the tool builds the line and solves for the crossing — flagging horizontal lines (never cross, unless the line is y = 0) and vertical lines explicitly.
Where a line through two points crosses the x-axis.
x₀ = x₁ − y₁/m
| Symbol | Meaning |
|---|---|

Through (0,2) and (2,0): m = −1, x₀ = 2. Horizontal y = 3 → never crosses.
